snippetz of turd: EA. again.

Change, I recently happened to realise, doesn't do me good. Ever. But. When the whole wide fucking world all around you changes, what do you do? I guess you can try to blow the dust off some of your "Wang Dang Swearing in Slang" books and become a grumpy old fart. Although inevitably, everyone will start taking you for a... well, grumpy old fart.

That, sadly, doesn't work. Neither it does for you, nor for -- or with -- those around you. If you want to hold on to your sanity and expect the ones you love to stand ready to help, you have to go with it. You have to change. So I sat down. And with the can of Russian lager firmly in my grasp, scratching my balls through a conveniently placed rip in my pants, change I did.

I hate media, always have. All that stupid fucking crap making me buy fucking shelves to sit on, silently bending them. And the very reason of my infinite hatred of media is why I love the Internet. Download, have a little fun, discard, burn the dust cloth, toss the Pronto in the BBQ, rinse and repeat.

"IF YOU DO NOT WANT EA TO COLLECT, USE, STORE, TRANSMIT OR DISPLAY THE DATA DESCRIBED IN THIS SECTION, PLEASE DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THE APPLICATION." - Origin EULA

Ever since the yanks in charge of Steam acknowledged the existence of countries outside USA and Europe ("Yoo-Rope. That's in Russia, ain't it?"), a plate full of juicy gaming offers has fallen in my lap. Flooding me with online love in their cosy virtual videogame shop, loading your cargo hold with stock on Steam is -- I'm going to say it -- not the slightest bit less convenient and easy than doing so in the, let's call them uncharted bays.

But of course, now that everything is where it should be, one Chris Prieslty a.k.a. Roger Todger a.k.a. Mick Prick insists to have a swing of his boundless dickery at it. Through the hole of this -- unfortunate, let's be fair -- being, we receive the news that the grand finale of what probably is the best trilogy ever conceived in videogame history, will not be, courtesy of EA, available on Steam. Which, given the whole thing is, was and ever will be about money, is fine by me.

"Origin will be required to run all editions of Mass Effect 3 on PC, BioWare has revealed - including copies bought from shops."

If Mr Pintle didn't insist further on sharing some revelations on why the competition is a pile of infernal rubbish and why his spanking flash magnificence of a software is not spyware. You heard me right, Mr Rod's accusations against Steam aside, 5 (read: five) scarcely credible months after a cataclysmic and very non-accusational fiasco, EA's orifices still break the wind.

Let me put it the way I, grumpy old fart, standing at your shop counter, banging a fist on it would. This is fucking unacceptable. I am not buying Mass Effect 3. Unless it's on Steam. Which, incidentally, I still tend to find one Internet-enabled software in my comp too many. Until such time, set sail for Tortuga!
