There's no other way to say this than utterly un-excited and matter-of-factly. Google are changing their privacy policy. And eye-poppingly, the majority of the Internetz-or-not public goes absolutely bonkers over it, calling for the Mountain View crew to rethink their 'Don't Be Evil' motto. Why?
Electronic Arts force-feed you plain spyware. Not only they do so without giving you an option, by agreeing to their EULA (that's where the no-option is), you are legally barred from taking them to court over it. We've said quite a lot about it and if this is not synonym to evil worth writing about, I don't know what is.
I lie. I actually do. Facebook. Their entire business model is built around selling your private data to 3rd parties. And, not that we're fans (we're not for the record), something called the EU is on a crackdown on it, that in its glorious completeness. In the meantime, Mr Zuckerberg is not at all hesitant to claim the said private data being his trade secret. While creating shadow profiles of non-users in what we can only gues is an attempt to fool even his clients, the mentioned 3rd parties, and rake in more revenue. And all that is absolutely, unquestionably kosher you say?

It only leads me to conclude that the people jumping up and down about Google's latest turn in user privacy don't, won't, or simply cannot fucking read. The new policy essentially states that Google will, from the first of March on, make your personal information available to and across all of its services. And that's not even anything new!
Another aspect of these terms that finds itself under fire, is personalised advertisments and search results. Once again, this is by no means whatsoever anything new and almost a good year old! If anything, the ads will merely become "more targeted" and most importantly, you won't be deprived of the sacred right to opt-out of the ads or disregard the personalised search results! Where exactly is the problem with that?
But of course, you can't be bothered to listen to some idiot who doesn't know anything about anything. Let me therefore invite you to have a stroll through an excellent article on Gizmodo, come up with your own opinion and go gracefully fuck yourself. Thank you.
